TWO PARTS OF THE RUNNING ENVIRONMENT
The application and the agent execution environment can be hosted separately. This is the proposed architecture for flexible deployment.
The Software-System.Design application manages projects, stories, agent coordination, permissions, and production history.
Isolated environments let agents write code, run tests, build applications, and deploy changes.
Use a managed Software-System.Design workspace while coding agents execute inside your own AWS account. You retain responsibility for your compute and AI provider usage.

The local or self-hosted Software-System.Design subscription is free. You pay your infrastructure and AI API providers for usage where applicable.
No. The local or self-hosted plan runs on your laptop, private server, or your own AWS account. Enterprise / Private Cloud keeps deployment in your organization’s infrastructure.
With Managed Cloud, you pay for compute and storage. Agent execution may be included in a managed plan; usage rates, included usage, and any additional execution costs will be confirmed.
Additional governance, security, enterprise integrations, deployment services, and support agreements for organizations using their own infrastructure.
That is the intended product boundary: a complete, useful open-source core for projects, backlog planning, micro-sprints, agents, and Git integration. Paid offerings cover hosting, managed execution, operations, support, and enterprise requirements.
Local and self-hosted deployments are intended to use infrastructure and configurable AI provider keys you control. Managed cloud is initially proposed with your own AI keys; using your own compute alongside a managed workspace is also a planned option.
A specific license has not yet been published in this repository. The final license and any commercial module terms will be shared with the core release.
